Our fund raising has become increasingly important as the economic downturn has seen significant cuts in public spending which have had a direct impact on the school. And so we really value the support of parents, carers and the wider local community. Here are some of the ways in which you could help us to help the school:
- By doing your online shopping via our EasyFundraising Page!
When you shop online, ie Amazon, we get some donations at NO extra cost to you- so it makes no difference to you but a BIG difference to our children at school! You only need to register once, and it’s FREE.
- By donating any unwanted gifts
We can use these as prizes at our events. Please drop off any donations at the school office – thank you!
- By helping out at events
Our events simply would not happen unless we had the help and support of teachers, parents and carers! For example, at each disco we need at least five people in addition to the PTA team to ensure that we can organise everything smoothly. See About Us page for details of how to contact us.
- By collecting unwanted clothes, soft toys, bags, belts and shoes
Two or three times a year, we have a collection for the ‘Bag2School‘ scheme. Through this charity, we raise on average £280 per collection for the school. So please save your unwanted items for us – we can put them to good use!
- By donating good quality raffle prizes for the Summer Fete
We are well supported by many parents who have connections with businesses, and the donations that they give us help to make our Summer Fete raffle an excellent fund raiser. From carpet cleaning to beauty treatments, from a piece of original art to a voucher towards the cost of a meal at a local restaurant: all of these prizes are much appreciated! Do you have anything you could contribute? Please get in touch! We include details of all of our supporters on our Facebook page, in our Fete literature, and – at last! – on our website.
- By making small, regular financial contributions
We raise a lot of our money through the events that we organise, but we also benefit hugely from small, regular donations of money made by some parents. For example, of the £8,000 we recently gave the school to buy laptops and a stand alone charger, over £2,000 came from the regular giving of parents which we have saved up over the years. Knowing that we have a regular supply of income allows us to plan our spending and saving effectively, and we are very grateful to those parents who are able to support us in this way. And, as a charity, if a donor is a tax payer, we are able to claim tax back via the Gift Aid scheme – making parents’ money work even harder for the school’s benefit!
Could you donate £1 or £2 per month to support the work of the PTA? If you can, then please print out Standing Order form to complete giving us your details. Please return your form to us via the red post box outside the school office. Thank you!
If you are a UK taxpayer, please join our Gift Aid scheme, which allows us to reclaim the basic rate of tax from HM Revenue & Customs on any donations made. This is an excellent way of fundraising, as it allows the PTA, as a registered charity, to claim back £2.50 for every £10 donated – at NO extra cost to you – FREE for you, BIG help for us! Alternatively, if you did not wish to commit to a regular monthly amount but were able to give a one-off donation, this could also be included within the Gift Aid scheme. Please print out both Standing Order form and Gift Aid Declaration Form to complete giving us your details. Please return your form to us via the red post box outside the school office. Thank you!
- And of course by coming along and supporting our events and having a good time!
